The existing building was originally built as a commercial/factory building in the early 20th century. Over its life span it was converted to a rooming house for residents of the local area. The city of Vancouver acquired the property and performed a complete renovation of the building. Dura Seal was contracted to rebuild the building envelope which included seismic upgrade of the original wood framing. We installed new Simpson Hardware to the existing framing as well as replaced damaged structural members. We installed new Starline 9000 windows to the prepared rough opening. We installed new 2 ply SBS roof to the main roof as well as the light well on the lower floor. All of the roof perimeter was protected with new metal cap flashing.
